There are moments in a project’s journey that feel bigger than an award.​

For Wolo Hotel & Residences, Mont Kiara KL, that moment came in Shanghai at the 12th CREDAWARD, where the project became the first Malaysian project to receive Gold recognition at CREDAWARD, winning in two categories: Future (Concept) Project — Residential Project Under Construction and Demonstration Area Interior Design.

The recognition is particularly meaningful because CREDAWARD is not simply a celebration of visual design. Established in China in 2014, the award has grown into an international platform that brings together developers, owners and design practices from around the world. Its evaluation considers architectural aesthetics, environmental preservation, user experience and economic benefits, reflecting a broader view of what makes a project successful.

For the 12th edition, Wolo stood among a field of 935 submissions from 271 organisations. It was also the only Malaysian project shortlisted that year.

Two Golds, Two Expressions of Wolo

The first Gold recognised Wolo’s architectural concept under Future (Concept) Project — Residential Project Under Construction, acknowledging the vision behind the development by Bangkok-based Openbox Architects.

The second Gold went to the Wolo Experience Lounge under Demonstration Area Interior Design, recognising the interior design by Singapore-based 932 Design Group.

Together, the two awards represent two sides of the same vision.

One looks at the building as a whole — its architecture, identity and relationship with its surroundings.

The other looks inward, at how that vision becomes tangible through material, atmosphere, proportion and the experience of entering a home.

That connection is central to Wolo.

Designing Beyond the Expected

Wolo Mont Kiara KL brings together private residences, serviced residences and a boutique hotel within a hospitality-led development in Mont Kiara. The project seeks to create more than a collection of individual spaces; it is envisioned as an integrated experience where architecture, interiors and hospitality come together.

The design concept embraces greenery, open spaces and human-centred areas, while the project adopts the idea of “Quiet Opulence” — an approach where luxury is expressed through quality, proportion, materiality and experience rather than excess.

It is a philosophy that asks a simple question: what does luxury actually feel like when you live in it every day?

A Proud Moment for Malaysia

International recognition carries a particular meaning for a Malaysian project.

Wolo Mont Kiara KL’s Gold recognition places a locally developed project within a global conversation about contemporary architecture and design. It also reflects the increasingly international nature of the creative team behind the development, bringing together expertise from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and beyond.

For everyone involved, the achievement is not simply about bringing home two trophies.

It is about seeing a Malaysian-born hospitality and residential vision recognised on an international stage.

And ultimately, it is about what those accolades represent for the people who will experience Wolo in the years to come: a commitment to thoughtful design, considered details and a standard of quality that begins long before the first resident walks through the door.
